Africa: The Art of a
Continent - Guggenheim Museum
A celebration of the extraordinary
contribution of the African continent to the world's visual culture. The
exhibition includes works ranging from the tools and rock art of early
humankind to objects produced well into the twentieth century. The
installation presents the works of art in a geographical and historical
context and offers descriptions of their cultural uses and symbolic meanings
insofar as these are known to scholars.
Anasazi Heritage

A museum of the Ancestral Puebloan
(or Anasazi) culture and other native cultures in the Four Corners region.
The museum features permanent exhibits on archaology, local history and
Native American culture. It holds a research collection of over 3 million
artifacts and documents from archaeological projects in Southwest Colorado.

of Northern Kentucky and the middle Ohio Valley, (2) contemporary

mission of the Maxwell encompasses the entire history of mankind and culture

Ancesters shows 4 million years of human evolution, and People of
the Southwest interprets 11,000 years of cultural history in the
Southwest. There are several educational resources that may be used for
nonprofit purposes. You can also browse through some of Maxwell's
archaeological, ethnological and photo collections.
