UNESCO Social and Human Sciences Documentation Centre promotes international cooperation in social sciences by exchange of  information and supports the social and human sciences information and documentation programmes of UNESCO by:

Serving as a Clearing House for relevant UNESCO documents as well as an Information Centre for specialists at headquarters and in the field, to governmental and non governmental organizations, to Members States, and to training, research and documentation centres.
Maintaining computerized and online databases on the Sector's major themes.
Providing online resources in social and human sciences.

DARE DATA BASE (last upload June 2004)

Launched in the 1970s, the social and human sciences DARE Database will be ceasing all activity for an indeterminate period. A new, compact version is under study.
The current version will remain online through to the end of 2006.
It comprises three sets of referral data:

social science research and advanced training institutions, professional associations and groups (4,800 records)
social science periodicals (4,650 records)
social science specialists (480 records)

SOCIAL AND HUMAN SCIENCES ONLINE PERIODICALS (last updated, May 2006)

The Social and Human Sciences Online Periodicals web site on Internet provides access to full text articles from around 700 scientific periodicals in the social and human sciences. It includes:

a subject table

a title index

a section of new periodicals.
