Registration Fee is Non-Refundable Registration Fee Does Not Include Accommodation; Registration will be Confirmed only if the Form is duly filled and payment is received in full Students from the Library and Information Science discipline can participate by sending their form through their institution.

* The non-participant accompanying person are welcome to India. They are entitled for about 40% discount of the individual participants. However, the participants are advised to inform in advance the details of the accompanying  person.

PAYMENT METHOD

International delegates who are interested in registering themselves for ICAL-2009 are required to use Swift Account No. SBININBB544 of State Bank of India, branch code 1067 of Delhi University with a specific A/C no. 10851299052.

The delegates who would like to remit the fee by using the credit card are required to contact Organising Secretary ICAL-2009 on  ical2009.os@gmail.com  , so that necessary arrangement could be made.

For Inland payments remittance for registration fee may be made to State Bank of India A/C No. 10851299052.  IFSC code SBIN0001067 pertaining to State Bank of India, Delhi University Branch.  (This code is allotted by Reserve Bank of India for RTG purpose).

All payments are to be in the name of The Registrar, University of Delhi, Delhi marked clearly that the payment is remitted towards registration for ICAL – 2009 with particulars of the delegate. 

Payment from Indian delegates will be accepted in Cash/ Local Check/ Demand Draft prepared in favour of Registrar, University of Delhi, Payable at Delhi (India)

ACCOMMODATION

The Organisers have limited accommodation arrangement for the participants. However, we can try for the accommodation in case the confirmed information about the participants reaches along with the payment information with an indication on capacity to pay the daily rent. TRAVEL

PRE-PAID TAXI OR RADIO TAXI

The Railway Stations and Airports in Delhi are well equipped with the facility to hire pre-paid taxis for which the participants are requested to reach to the designated place within the Railway Station or Airports and take the help of the Police Assistance/International Tourist Books available there. The participants also can make use of Radio Phone Cars by dialing +91-11-41414141. The tariff of the city radio taxi is fixed by the Government of Delhi at Rs. 15.00 ($0.45 approximately. Payable in Indian Rupee) per km. Mileage is determined by using tamper proof electronic fare meters - no hidden costs or overcharging You are charged only from origin to destination i.e. pick up point to drop point. Night Surcharge of 25% levied between 2300 hrs to 0500 hrs.

LOCAL TRANSPORTATIONS WITHIN CITY

Delhi is widely connected with Metro Rail and one can reach the Conference Venue by using the Metro Rail. Please visit the web site: http://www.delhimetrorail.com  for more details. Delhi has also fairly good number of local taxis, autos and the participants are advised to be careful in arranging such mode of transportation, especially the arrangement for fare. However, large number of bus service is available around the Delhi.

CLIMATE

Climate of Delhi in the month of October-November is the beginning of the winter season and is pleasant. The maximum temperature on a very hot Delhi afternoon would be about 25 to 30C and the minimum would fall to about 15C.

VISA REQUIREMENTS

Citizens of all countries, except Nepal and Bhutan; require a valid visa granted by Indian Missions Abroad for entering India. Those wishing to visit a neighboring country like Sri Lanka or Nepal and then returning to India, should obtain a double/ multiple entry visa. On the receipt of registration fee, the Organising Committee shall issue necessary documents as required for obtaining Visa from Indian consulate from the country of the applicant.

HEALTH REGULATIONS

Valid yellow fever certification is mandatory for all persons who have been to Africa, South America, or Papua New Guinea during the six days before entering into India.

CREDIT CARDS

Diners Club, Master card, American Express, Citibank, and Visa are widely accepted by large establishments including hotels, shops, and airlines.

SHOPPING

India is a shoppers' paradise and offers rich diversity of handicrafts, textiles, carpets, leather, gems, and jewellery to name a few. The travel counter at the Conference Venue can help you in arranging suitable transport for shopping excursions.

SIGHTSEEING

Tour Packages are available through DELHI TOURISM & TRANSPORTATION DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION LTD. which maintains fairly good reputation in handling the international tourists. You are required to spend you few minutes to browse: http://delhitourism.nic.in/publicpage/adventurelist.aspx.  The Web Site will give you fairly good idea. However, the Conference Organisers would be willing to arrange for sightseeing tour in case large number of confirmed requests are received by September 5, 2009 for which the participants are requested to send their information on : ical2009.os@gmail.com and such request should be send under the caption REQUEST FOR THE ARRANGEMENT OF SIGHTSEEING TOUR.
