About the Workshop

Delhi University Library System is organizing a half day Book Publishing Workshop on Monday 22nd  September, 2014 in collaboration with Elsevier at Conference Center, University of Delhi, (North Campus) Delhi. It will be a half day event in the afternoon. The Workshop will focus on topics such as Books Publishing Cycle/Process, Author Rights and Copyrights, Plagiarism, Future Trends, etc. The renowned speakers will share their expertise with the potential authors, researchers and faculties in the university. The workshop presentation, discussions and question and answer sessions will assist the scholars in enhancing their skills of writing the book content.

 This workshop will be beneficial for all faculty members and researchers interested and involved in getting their books published in world wide renowned publications. It will also enable them to exchange ideas globally and accomplishing recognition in the scientific publishing space. 

 

Workshop Speakers

 

                         David Jackson

                         Acquisitions Editor at Elsevier

                         Kidlington, Oxfordshire, United Kingdom

 

                        David Jackson is Acquisitions Editor for Materials Science and Engineering books in Elsevier’s Science and Technology Books group. He is based in Oxford in the United Kingdom, and works as part of the Engineering and Computing books team at Elsevier, which has over 30 publishers and editors in the UK, USA and China. He has previously worked in editorial roles on Nanotechnology books at Elsevier, and at the Royal United Services Institute for Defense and Security Studies in London. He was previously Editor-in-Chief of Impact, one of the largest student-run publications in the UK, and was short listed for 'Mind Student Journalist of the Year' in 2011.

The workshop content is specifically designed for authors. The following group of scholars interested in writing and publishing manuscripts and journal articles will find the workshop suitable.

 

o        Faculty Members from Sciences, Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities, University of Delhi.

o    Research Scholars from Sciences, Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities, University of Delhi.

o    All other Scholars engaged in research and publication from University of Delhi.
